Creative Introduction"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God´s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." When I see these words, I feel hope because it tells you that if you turn away from the world of sin, then it will transform and renew you and make you more open to doing God´s will for you. God´s will is always great - "his good, pleasing and perfect will" - for God will never make you do anything that would harm you. He knows what is best for you, even though you may not see it at the time. So how can we turn away from such a tempting world of money, fashion, ´beauty´, sex, lies, decete, aggression, violence etc.?

Step 1: Sit down and write a list of sins - especially take note of the ones you do on a fairly repetative basis. For instance, I really like to escape into the computer game Sims 2. This is a sin, because it becomes an addiction and becomes a pleasure seeker in something either than God himself. I can easily play the game for a whole day, causing me to put homework, friends and family off to the side.

Step 2: Ask for God´s forgiveness for your list of sins. Then ask God to give you guidance and a plan to help you not commit these sins again.

Step 3: Write out a plan that works for you and try it for a week. I found that if I had an incling to play my computer game, I would instead, pick up and read a chapter in the bible or any other Christian book I might be reading at the time to remind me of Who is the true source of joy.

Step 4: Listen and pray to God to renew and transform you mind to His will. This is scary, and that´s okay. God knows what you are feeling, so if you are feeling scared, then acknowledge to Him that that is what you are feeling at the time and ask for His guidance, strength and courage.

Step 5: Write down after your prayers to God about renewal, transformation and guidance, what you felt, any ideas or words that might have popped into your head, directions from God, etc. This will help you see what God is doing in your life and how He communicates to you, as well as identify how you respond to Him - to get in touch with Him.

Closing Illustration and Applications: It´s absolutely amazing what God does in your life if you just trust and communicate with him on a regular basis. But sin will draw you away from Him. However, the good news is that Jesus died so we could be forgiven of our sins. All we need to do is acknowledge what sins we have done, ask for His forgiveness, and then if we are having trouble resisting a temptation, then simply asking for guidance from God will bring about a renewed strength to resist temptation. God want´s us to ask for guidance, so don´t be afraid to ask. Once this happens, then we are renewed and transformed and have a better understanding of God and His will for us. How great is that?
