Part # 12: Devotional Study by Hislamb Write a devotional message on a passage of Scripture and share it with friends and family.
Devotionals simply explain the meaning of a passage of Scripture. To arouse the reader´s interest, the devotional should include a short illustration or real life story the Lord may have brought to your mind to further explain the text.
For example, using John 3:16 as the focal text, a devotional may read something like the following:
"Love gives. When I was a child, the last thing that I wanted to do was to share my toys with friends. But, the older I got, and the more that I began to care for and love others, I did not mind parting with my cherished possessions.
God is love. His nature is to give. He so loved you and me that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for my sins and for yours."
You may also want to include a tag line (e.g., Oh, to grow to love like God!) or a challenging question (e.g., How will you respond to God´s love for you today?)at the end of the devotional.
