The gospel is the true word of God and the reflection and the working out of the life of Christ. It is the message of salvation.

It must be good news to know there is
a way out and that we don´t have to pay.

I know i was lost and that i would have to pay for my old life and what i had done but some one told me the GOOD NEWS
and i found some one that realy love me and now i want others to hear the NEWS.

Here is ´The Good News´:
God loves us and has a wonderful plan for our lives..........
He has given us a "gift" that we can neither earn nor do we deserve.
He gave His only Son,Jesus who died for our sins, along with the promise of eternal life to those who will stop trusting in their own good works and efforts, and trust in Jesus as Lord over their lives.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

This is my favorite version of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul states as an eyewitness of the risen Christ. He also tells us of over 500 witness´s of the resurected Jesus many who are still alive. Paul seems as though he wants the people to check out his story.

If you have trouble sharing your faith this is a great verse to study and then share.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

The Gospel or " Good News" means that there is hope for those out there that realize that no matter how they are trying to attain happiness they just can´t seem to grasp it. True happines comes through being forgiven of their sins. Romans 10:9-10 . We all remember when we were children and we did something wrong that made our parents mad at us. It was not until our parents forgave us did we feel better. Salvation works the same way.

But we do have to pay don´t we?

I (We) were bought at a price, I am indebted to God and as a believer I am obligated to do His works. John 6:28-29

My Response: Obligated is an interesting word, how do you respond to this word? - Pastor Chris

The Gospel is the ultimate truth of God for the Salvation of man.

My Response: For discussion, what is the ultimate truth of God?

Saviour...and we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1 john 4:14

Lord....therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. acts 2:36

Peace...and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. philippians 4:7 little children, these things I write unto you, that ye sin not. and if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 john 2:1

Deliverer...for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. romans 8:2

Example...let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servamt, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. philippians 2 : 5-8

Security...for I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, not powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. romans 8:38,39

Fullfillment...and Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. john 6:35

Everything...but my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. philippians 4:19

The gospel is that capsule of information disciples of Jesus Christ carry with them into every facet of their lives. We share the "good news" that God has invited us to be with Him forever, but that privilege is possible only through faith in the life and purpose of Jesus Christ.

I too am so thankful for the everlasting mercy of God. Someone who would give something so precious to me a sinner in the very depths of sin. I thank God everyday for his mercy and grace. It is so incomprehensible that He could give and do so much for us. Let us not forget that as we walk through this life.

This is an excellent description of the GOSPEL.

When we share the GOSPEL with those who do not yet believe we need to be very simple and straight forward with how we describe it.

I believe another good way to share the GOOD NEWS is as follows:

When someone realizes that they are a sinner (Romans 3:23 )

and that

Jesus took our sins upon himself.
("who his own self bare our sins in his own body" - 1 Peter 2:24 )

realize that they cannot earn eternal life or Heaven. (Ephesians 2:8-9 ) In fact that their works have nothing to do with earning or keeping there salvation ( 1 Peter 1:5 )

and when that person

places their trust in this truth (believing it with all of their heart) calls on Jesus (Romans 10:13 ) to save them from sin, death and hell believing that he will they are saved ( 1 Peter 1:9 ) and are eternally secure in their salvation (John 10:28 ).
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is impossible for anyone to understand these truths outside of the work of the HOLY SPIRIT, therefore when teaching/witnessing etc... make sure that you pray for the HOLY SPIRIT to be working in the listeners heart and mind.

God Bless,

My Daughter and I sat and study some of the responsesd that were here. We related and could understand best the one about us being people drowning in sin. Well she made a very good point about us drowning and having a life jacket (JESUS) to keep us from drowning, but she also added that he has placed a protective shield over us to keep the "Sharks" (as it was so well put in one of the notes) from getting to us and continuing to feed on us. We have both signified that Barrier as the precious blood of Jesus tht cleanses and protects us. May GOD Bless us all, especially the little children.

I thank God and praise Him for caring enough for me to wash me in His blood and raise me up to new life and for adopting me and accepting me just as I am and that in Him i am forgiven and redeemed. Praise His name.

My father always sang a song, I sell the morning paper sir, my name is Jimmy Brown, the song title is Jimmy Brown, its words were simple, a young boy had nothing, no shoes upon his feet, but with no complaining he went out in the cold, and was hungry, selling news-papers, with a hope that someday he would be delivering the "Good News" in heaven someday. The point is we all face tribulations, and storms, our Savior told us that we would, His words were, Be of good Cheer for I have overcome the world, and not for God the Father to take us out of this world but to be with us. In the news today, sometimes it is hard to be of good cheer. But remember this little song Jimmy Brown, he looked beyond today, to eternity, and spred the GOOD NEWS of Gods love no matter how he felt, cold, hungry,or in his bare feet. The way the world sees us as Christians, reflex "The Good News" so be of good cheer and remember this world is not our home, go sell some papers....The Good News, of His Love for all of us.

I AM GODS CHILD writes on 2006-01-03

I believe that all should share the goodness of
our savior daily to anyone and everyone,i know myself if my son michael who was studying to be
a minister had not keep after me not pressuring but just talking and discussing the word of God
i would not be here today just after i got saved my son got killed,he didnt live in body to see
me baptized but i know he was there with me.
So we should all reach out to everyone we can to guide them to the Lord as we all were.
We in sense can probably guide several people to GOD just as common people. i am gods child

I AM GODS CHILD writes on 2006-01-03

I really liked the ariticle it was a good example of people reaching out to one another as he left the 99 to go find the one that was lost,he said im not here for the righteous but for the sinners
and as my son did for me by leading me to our lord we should also lead others to him as well we could be someones last chance to know our God as we do. I AM GODS CHILD

Well first off I woul like to say that recently I read an interview of a man who talked about the meaning of life..he said that the short time we have here on earth is paralled to a dress rehersal for the real show (heaven)during our time here we need to constanly improve our characters and help others in the word all in preparation for an eternal (wow thats a long time)life in heaven with the Lord. Put in that context I feel honorerd that the LORD would be so gracious as to offer me that privledge. I am ready to improve my character and help any and everyone along the way. Just believing whats in store (and Iam sure it pales drastically to the reality) gives me motivation to continue.
one of my recent favorite scriptures is
Mathew 15:11
´Its not what goes into your mouth that defiles you but what comes out of you mouth is what defiles you´

Please be kind with your words!!!

WOW, I had not seen the gospel acrostic. Very good and well put. I have seen the one for Grace, God´s Riches At Christ´s Expense. Also, Faith, Forsaking All I Take Him. Both are required for salvation.
